Levi’s, a pioneer in the denim industry for nearly 170 years, has demonstrated strong leadership in sustainability and safer chemical management.
The company has successfully eliminated PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) from its supply chain, earning an A+ rating from the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) in 2022. This achievement makes Levi’s the highest-ranked among 30 top U.S. apparel brands surveyed for PFAS elimination. The brand’s commitment to safer chemicals extends beyond PFAS, as evidenced by their recognition at the Aspirational Level in the ZDHC (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals) Leadership program. Levi’s was one of only five apparel companies to earn this highest designation in 2021, highlighting their comprehensive approach to chemical management and sustainability in their supply chain.
